We are very excited to get the summer started with Opening Day!  Especially since it is being hosted by the AAA affiliate of the Houston Astros at Constellation Field!  You may be wondering, what is HP Opening Day? It’s a chance for us to evaluate our talent, as well as give college coaches and pro scouts an early look at the HP boys.  We feel this event is very exciting because the boys are able to showcase themselves in a controlled scrimmage.  They can be very aggressive in all aspects of the game without regard to the score.  There are no walks allowed, base runners will be told to steal at will, defenders can take risks to make great plays, and pitchers can cut it loose knowing they are only facing a few hitters.
